The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Rev. Aminu Ayuka, has commended Governor Uba Sani and security agencies for their efforts in securing the release of worshippers abducted by bandits in Kurmin Wali.
Hundreds of Christian worshippers were kidnapped on Sunday, January 18, 2026, when armed bandits attacked three churches in Kurmin Wali and took the victims into the forest.
In a statement, Rev. Ayuka praised the governor for ongoing development projects in the local government area and efforts to maintain peace and security.
“I want to thank Governor Uba Sani for the projects that are ongoing in the local government and the relative peace the people are enjoying. We pray for God’s protection and wisdom to guide him in piloting the affairs of the state,” he said.
He also called for divine intervention to end banditry and kidnapping in Chikun Local Government Area and Kaduna State at large.
Rev. Ayuka urged Christian youths to avoid violence and actions that could threaten peace, unity, and development in the area.
He further encouraged pastors to sensitise their members on the importance of participating in the ongoing voter registration exercise and promoting peaceful coexistence.
The CAN chairman emphasised the need for unity among residents and continued collaboration with authorities to address security challenges in the state.
