Nigerian Grammy-nominated singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has spoken about how losing at the 2026 Grammy Awards affected him emotionally.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the award-winning artiste admitted that the loss left him deeply disappointed and initially unwilling to attend the Grammy after-party.

Davido, however, revealed that his wife, Chioma, played a crucial role in lifting his spirits and restoring his confidence with words of encouragement.

Expressing appreciation for her unwavering support, the singer described Chioma as his “ride or die.”

“I said, ‘Baby, listen, we lost again, let’s not go.’ She said, ‘Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.’ We outside. My ride or die. She dey my back, active geng,” he wrote.

Chioma also responded in a separate post, reaffirming her love and confidence in her husband.

“You already know that you’re the perfect one,” she wrote.

Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the 2026 Grammy Awards but lost to South African singer Tyla.
