Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed gratitude to his father, Adedeji Adeleke, for publicly defending him amid an ongoing paternity dispute involving an alleged baby mama, Ayo Labinjoh.
The controversy began after a teenage girl, Aanu Adeleke, identified as Labinjoh’s daughter, wrote an open letter to Davido demanding that he submit to a paternity test. Davido, however, denied knowing Labinjoh and stated that several DNA tests previously conducted confirmed that the teenager is not his child.
Labinjoh has continued to insist that Davido is her daughter’s biological father, dismissing the DNA test results as invalid.
Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, Adedeji Adeleke addressed the issue, revealing that the DNA testing process involved both Davido and his cousin, fellow musician B-Red, in an effort to conclusively resolve the paternity claims.
Reacting to his father’s intervention, Davido took to his Instagram page on Thursday to appreciate the show of support. Sharing a photo of himself and his father, the singer wrote, “Thank you my loving Father.”
The paternity dispute has continued to generate public attention and debate across social media platforms.
