Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has announced that she is now a three-time Guinness World Record holder, following confirmation that her September 2025 achievement also earned her an additional global title.

Baci revealed on Tuesday that her record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice had simultaneously broken the record for the largest serving of rice overall. She shared the news via Instagram, updating her profile to read “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.”

“Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026,” she wrote.

According to Baci, the confirmation came through an email from Guinness World Records. The organisation explained that a review of record guidelines showed that her successful attempt at the “Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice” also met the criteria for the broader category of “Largest serving of rice.”

Reacting to the development, Baci said she was surprised and delighted by the news, noting that she only became aware of the second record several months after the initial announcement.

“What I thought was one record turned out to be two,” she said, adding that the discovery now brings her total Guinness World Records titles to three.

In September 2025, Baci prepared 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a cookout in Lagos, setting a new world record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice ever made. The feat was recognised as the biggest pot of the dish prepared globally.

This latest recognition adds to her earlier Guinness World Record set in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute non-stop cooking marathon, making her the first Nigerian chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

Baci credited her team for the success, describing their collaboration as central to the achievement. She also expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout the journey.

She concluded by thanking Guinness World Records, her team, and supporters, describing the milestone as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through teamwork, dedication, and vision.

The new record further cements Baci’s status as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished chefs, while spotlighting Nigerian cuisine on the global stage.
