Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has denied claims that he is the biological father of a teenage girl identified as Anu, who recently requested a DNA test to establish her identity.

In a series of posts on social media, the singer rejected the allegation and accused Anu’s mother of misleading her daughter. Davido said he has already undergone multiple DNA tests in the past, all of which returned negative results.

“I’ve taken five DNA tests, all negative. I am not your father. I have never even met your mother,” the singer wrote, adding that the situation needs to stop.

Anu, in an emotional message shared on Instagram, appealed directly to Davido for a DNA test, saying she wanted clarity as she grows older. She recounted years of bullying and emotional distress, claiming classmates mocked her for saying the singer was her father.

According to Anu, the experience affected her mental health and led her to seek professional help. Despite the challenges, she said she remained focused on her education and has continued to excel academically.

“As I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke for a DNA test to establish my identity,” she wrote. “It is the right thing to do for me.”

Responding, Davido insisted that DNA tests had already been conducted at five different hospitals—three chosen by him and two by Anu’s side—with all results confirming he is not her father.

The singer expressed frustration over the continued public attention and threatened to take legal action against Anu’s mother, whom he accused of harassment and spreading false claims. He, however, said he does not blame the teenager for the situation.

“This is the last time I’m speaking on this,” Davido said, stressing that he already has children and wants the matter put to rest.

As of the time of reporting, Anu’s family has not issued a fresh response to Davido’s latest statements.
