Nollywood Bids Farewell to Actress Allwell Ademola in Lagos

The Nigerian film industry has paid its final respects to veteran Nollywood actress, writer, and director Allwell Ademola, whose funeral was held on Friday in Lagos.

Ademola passed away on December 27 at the age of 49 after suffering a heart attack at her residence. Her death was met with an outpouring of grief across the entertainment industry, where she was widely admired for her versatility and creative contributions.

Funeral activities commenced with a candlelight procession and service of songs held at the Lagos State Television premises in Ikeja. This was followed by her burial at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.

Colleagues, friends, and family members gathered to honour her memory, with notable Nollywood figures such as Rotimi Salami, Toyin Abraham, Afeez Owo, Saidi Balogun, and Adedoyin Kukoyi in attendance.

Allwell Ademola was known for her memorable performances in productions including Ile Wa, Third Eye, and Mimi’s Voice. Beyond acting, she made a lasting impact as a writer and director, earning respect within the Nollywood community for her dedication to storytelling and the arts.

She leaves behind a legacy that continues to resonate with fans and colleagues across the Nigerian film industry.
