Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has addressed recent controversies surrounding her personal life by undergoing a drug test, a decision she revealed in an emotional post shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday.
The actress said the move followed months of intense emotional strain and public scrutiny, describing the period as a major turning point that nearly overwhelmed her.
According to Daniels, the past months were marked by deep personal challenges that tested her resilience, but she credited her survival to the support she received from her family, friends and members of the public.
She explained that her decision to undergo the drug test was driven by a desire to uphold integrity, accountability and peace of mind, especially for those who support and look up to her.
Daniels said persistent rumours branding her a drug addict were particularly hurtful and influenced her decision to take the test. She described the claims as baseless, stressing that she chose to confront the allegations directly rather than allow public opinion to define her.
She noted that the experience has pushed her into a phase of self-discovery and personal growth, adding that she remains grateful to God for strength, grace and resilience throughout the ordeal.
“This chapter of my life is about self-discovery, growth and being intentional about who I am and where I am going. I’m still standing, still growing and just getting started,” she said.
The development comes amid heightened public attention on her marriage to billionaire businessman and senator, Ned Nwoko, which has reportedly broken down into a bitter estrangement.
In recent months, both parties have exchanged serious allegations. Daniels had accused Nwoko of domestic abuse and of attempting to force her into rehabilitation, also alleging that members of her family were detained to pressure her into compliance.
Nwoko has denied the abuse allegations, instead claiming that the actress has struggled with substance use. He said he arranged therapy after observing what he described as troubling behaviour linked to substance dependence. His camp has also released statements asserting the authenticity of medical and toxicology reports which they claim show positive drug and alcohol results.
The situation continues to generate widespread public debate as both parties maintain opposing narratives.
