The quarter-final line-up for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 has been completed following Algeria’s dramatic Round of 16 victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday.

Algeria sealed their place in the last eight with a hard-fought 1–0 extra-time win in Rabat, where substitute Anis Boulbina struck in the 119th minute to secure qualification. The victory sets up a highly anticipated quarter-final encounter against Nigeria.

Nigeria had earlier booked their quarter-final spot on Monday night with an emphatic 4–0 win over Mozambique. Victor Osimhen starred for the Super Eagles, scoring twice as Nigeria cruised into the next round.

Before Algeria’s qualification, Senegal, Mali, host nation Morocco, Cameroon and Egypt had already progressed to the quarter-finals.

Defending champions Côte d’Ivoire completed the last-eight line-up after a convincing 3–0 victory over Burkina Faso on Tuesday night in Marrakesh. Goals from Amad Diallo, Yan Diomandé and Bamba Touré capped a dominant display by the Elephants, who are now chasing a historic back-to-back AFCON title. They will face Egypt in one of the tournament’s standout quarter-final ties.
