The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast predominantly sunny and cloudy weather conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
In its three-day weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet said the northern region will experience sunny skies throughout the forecast period.
For the central region, the agency predicted sunny conditions with a few patches of clouds from Monday to Wednesday.
In the southern region, NiMet forecast sunny skies with patches of clouds, with prospects of isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall later in the day.
On Monday, isolated thunderstorms with light rains are expected over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Imo, Abia and Osun states.
For Tuesday, sunny skies are anticipated over the northern region, while the central region will also remain sunny with few cloud patches. The southern region will experience sunny skies with patches of clouds and isolated thunderstorms, with light rains likely over parts of Abia, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa states during the afternoon or evening.
On Wednesday, NiMet projected a sunny and hazy atmosphere over parts of Jigawa, Yobe and Borno states, while the rest of the northern region will remain sunny. Light rains are expected later in the day over parts of Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa states.
The agency advised motorists to drive with caution during rainfall and urged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective flight planning. Residents were also encouraged to stay updated through NiMet’s official weather reports.
