Heavy security presence was recorded on Saturday at Ebunoluwa Hall in Osogbo, the venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary ahead of the 2026 Osun State election.
A total of 1,660 delegates are expected to participate in the exercise to elect the party’s governorship candidate. Security operatives drawn from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Department of State Services (DSS) were deployed to ensure a hitch-free process.
Members of the APC Primary Committee have concluded the accreditation of delegates under tight security. Delegates were seated according to their respective local government areas, while party leaders and stakeholders continued to arrive at the venue.
The Chairman of the APC Primary Committee and Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, had earlier disclosed that the affirmation method would be adopted for the primary election.
The process was calm and orderly as officials coordinated activities at the venue, with further details expected as the exercise progresses.
