Celebrated Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Dayo Amusa, has been elected the National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) following a successful national election held in Benin City, Edo State.
In a statement issued by her media office on Monday, December 8, 2025, Amusa described her emergence as a reflection of her dedication to the development of the Nigerian film industry.
“My emergence as the AGN National Vice President is a testament to my unwavering dedication, leadership qualities, and longstanding commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria,” she said.
She noted that the confidence reposed in her by guild members would drive her to deliver a tenure defined by transparency, innovation, and impactful service.
“This achievement reflects the trust placed in me by members of the guild, and I am certain that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and elevate the guild’s operational standards.”
Amusa, known for her roles in several Nollywood productions and for producing notable films such as the Yoruba hit Dewunmi Iberu, said she intends to use her new role to defend the interests of Nigerian actors and advance the industry’s relevance to national development.
She also serves as the Vice President of the Ijebu Pride Network, an initiative led by Bashorun Femi Branch that brings together prominent Ijebu talents to promote the culture and heritage of Ijebuland and Remoland in Ogun State.
Widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s influential figures, Dayo Amusa continues to inspire younger actors and maintain her reputation as a respected household name in the entertainment industry.
