Renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Dies at 98

Prominent Islamic scholar and revered cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has passed away at the age of 98.

The influential Dariqa scholar, born on June 29, 1927, died on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

Confirming his death, one of his close associates, Daha Azhary Bauchi, announced:
“Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilaihi raji’un… Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has passed away. May Allah bless us with his blessings.”

Another devoted disciple, Abubakar Ibrahim Wunti, also confirmed the news on Thursday morning.

Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi was widely regarded as one of the most respected Islamic figures in Nigeria and across West Africa. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to the propagation of Islamic teachings, the promotion of Quranic education, and the mentorship of countless students in the memorisation and recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

Over the decades, he led thousands of disciples, leaving an enduring legacy through his scholarship, spiritual guidance, and commitment to the growth of Islamic knowledge.
