The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Governor of Bayelsa State and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, wanted over alleged financial crimes.
The anti-graft agency made the announcement in a notice published on its official X (Twitter) handle on Monday, November 10, 2025.
According to the EFCC, Sylva is being sought in connection with an alleged case of conspiracy and dishonest conversion involving $14,859,257 — funds said to have been injected by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) into Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Limited for refinery construction.
The Commission stated that the declaration followed a warrant issued by the Lagos State High Court on November 6, 2025.
The notice described Sylva, 61, as a native of Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and urged anyone with useful information about his whereabouts to contact the EFCC through any of its offices nationwide or via the agency’s official contact channels, including 08093322644 and info@efcc.gov.ng.
