The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the minister was received on arrival by the Consul General of Nigeria in Dubai, Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) who had arrived earlier.
Wike is scheduled to lead a discussion panel on Tuesday, where he will field questions about developments in the FCT and engage with mayors of other capital cities participating in the summit.
The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (2025APCS), organised by the Brisbane City Council of Australia, brings together mayors, city leaders, business executives, and young professionals from across the world. The summit seeks to promote collaboration, investment, and trade opportunities among cities in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South Asia regions.
This year’s edition, themed “Collaborate, Inspire, Transform,” features sub-themes such as Centres of Connection, which focuses on transportation networks and sustainable urban development to enhance the quality of life in modern cities.
