Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has asked for the help of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, after the Federal Government froze his bank accounts.

Igboho visited the monarch at his Bodija home in Ibadan on Monday, along with some of his supporters. The two held a private meeting that lasted about 40 minutes.

According to a statement from Igboho’s media office on Wednesday, the discussion focused on rising insecurity in the South-West, recent bandit attacks in parts of Kwara State, and the issues Igboho continues to face with the government.

The statement said Olubadan promised to step in and help resolve some of these challenges, including Igboho being declared wanted and the freezing of his accounts.

It will be recalled that in 2021, DSS operatives raided Igboho’s house in Ibadan, killing two of his aides and arresting 13 others, accusing him of keeping illegal weapons.

During his visit, Igboho also congratulated Oba Ladoja on becoming Olubadan. He called him a respected leader and promised to support efforts to improve security in the South-West.

“Olubadan has always been like a father to me since his days as governor,” Igboho said. “His time on the throne will bring peace, unity, and growth to Ibadan and all of Yorubaland.”
