Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to upholding merit, competence, and excellence in appointments, stating that his government prioritizes talent over sentiment, partisanship, or ethnic considerations.
He made this statement on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission at the Executive Chamber, Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Makinde emphasized that his administration will continue to appoint people who can contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the state, regardless of their political leaning or state of origin.
“Wherever we can find talent that can add value to us as a state, I will go for such a person,” the governor said.
He urged the newly inaugurated commission members to apply their expertise and commitment toward strengthening the judiciary and advancing the overall interests of Oyo State.
The Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima, will chair the Judicial Service Commission, while Mrs. M.O. Abdulganiyu has been appointed as Secretary.
Other members of the commission include the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Abiodun Aikomo; Mr Musibau Adetunji; Chief Joshua Abioye; Chief Moyosore Ajani; and Mr. Wahab Adedigba.
