The draw for the 2026 World Cup will take place on December 5 in Las Vegas, ESPN reports.

FIFA has decided on the American city after ruling out venues in Canada and Mexico.

The tournament will be played across the three countries next year.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first to feature 48 teams, expanding from the current 32, and will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

“December 5, if I’m not mistaken, is precisely the day the draw takes place, or at the beginning of December,” Pachuca executive Pedro Cedillo said.

“I understand it will be in Las Vegas, and that’s where we need to be present to provide information about the city of Pachuca, the state of Hidalgo and the two venues we have.”

Las Vegas also played a key role during the 1994 World Cup, hosting the draw at the Las Vegas Convention Center the last time the U.S. hosted the tournament.
