Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has issued a strong appeal to the contractor handling the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal office complex, urging a speedy completion of the project ahead of the September 2025 deadline.
The Minister made the appeal during an inspection visit to the construction site located in Dakibiyu, Jabi District, on Wednesday.
This is contained in a statement by Rabi’a Musa Umar, the assistant director, press Office of the honorable Minister FCTA.
The visit was part of his ongoing review of major infrastructure developments in the capital city.
Clearly not satisfied with the pace of work observed on site, Wike stressed the urgency of accelerating the project timeline.
He assured the contractor that financial support would not be a barrier to completing the project.
Responding to journalists on whether the timeline was still realistic, the Minister expressed some concern but maintained cautious optimism.
Reacting to the contractor’s request for more financial backing, Wike took issue with the phrasing and emphasized that he had already committed to making funds available promptly.
He added that the term “enough funding” was too vague, and reminded the contractor of their earlier agreement to deliver the project by the promised date.
The Minister was accompanied during the inspection by the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, along with other senior officials of the FCTA.
The visit formed part of routine checks to monitor progress and enforce accountability on major federal projects within the territory.
