Many residents of Igbope, Kishi and other communities in Oyo State are currently stranded as a result of collapse of the bridge that link the two communities.
The affected bridge serves as the primary link between Igbope in Oorelope Local Government Area and Kishi in Irepo Local Government Area, both located in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone of the state.
According to reports gathered on Wednesday, the bridge collapsed due to a flood caused by heavy rainfall that occurred between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
It was learnt that there was heavy rainfall between Monday night and Tuesday morning, which resulted in a flood that washed away the bridge.
It is revealed that thousands of people in the affected communities are currently stranded as the bridge is the key route for economic, social, and agricultural activities in the region.
As of the time of this report on Wednesday, the bridge has remained unfixed and paralysed all social and economic activity in the area.
