Vice President Kashim Shettima  has  paid a condolence visit to Aisha Buhari, the widow of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, along with her family, in London, United Kingdom.

The Vice President also visited the late President’s nephew, Mamman Daura, who is recuperating in a London hospital.

Shettima is leading a federal government high-powered delegation to bring Buhari’s remains to Nigeria for burial.

As a mark of respect to the former Nigerian leader, Tinubu directed that all national flags fly at half-staff across the country for seven days from today.

The President also summoned an emergency Federal Executive Council session tomorrow, dedicated to Buhari’s honour.

This is just as the All Progressives Congress announced the temporary closure of its National Secretariat in honour of the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC called on its members to observe this period of national mourning with solemn reflection and prayers for the peaceful rest of the late leader’s soul.

Also, the National Assembly today suspended all legislative activities to honour the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Announcing the decision in a statement, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana explained that the suspension was in recognition of Buhari’s service and legacy, noting that lawmakers were urged to adjust their schedules to participate fully in the burial activities of the late former president.
