Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially handed over 31 new medical equipment to the management of the Ring Road State Hospital, Adeoyo, Ibadan, as part of efforts to upgrade the facility to the level of a University Teaching Hospital.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, his Executive Assistant on Administration, Rev. Idowu Ogedengbe, noted that the initiative reflects the government’s broader commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and medical training across the state. He explained that the newly provided equipment is intended to boost the hospital’s capacity to offer high-quality healthcare services to residents of Oyo State.
“The 31 pieces of equipment being handed over today are high-quality, modern, and selected to ensure affordability and availability of related consumables,” Ogedengbe said. He added that the move was not only to prepare for future collaborations with medical missions and organizations but also to position the hospital as a hub for surgical excellence.
Ogedengbe called on the hospital’s staff to embrace a strong culture of maintenance to preserve the functionality and lifespan of the new equipment. He extended appreciation to the State Hospital Management Board and the hospital’s leadership for their contributions to the successful execution of the project.
In his remarks, the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Oladipo Aremu, thanked Governor Makinde for his support, emphasizing that the new equipment would significantly improve the hospital’s ability to deliver quality healthcare
