The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a three-day severe weather alert characterised by heavy rainfall and strong winds in different regions from today.
According to the Forecast issued by the agency, Southern states should prepare for potential flooding incidents.
It said on Friday April 11, there would be moderate to heavy rainfall in states such as Ogun, Oyo and Osun, adding Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti will also experience downpours as well as Edo, Delta and Imo.
The heavy rainfall and strong winds pattern continues Saturday, according to the bulletin.
NiMet predicted surface winds exceeding 30 knots which may damage property and disrupt travel plans.
The agency said airlines have been notified about potential turbulence while residents were advised to secure loose outdoor items
