The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has emphasised the importance of mutual love between political leaders and Nigerians as a critical step toward advancing the country.
This was disclosed in his Eid-el-Fitr message to Muslims, emphasising the need for love that prioritizes others over personal desires, a love that aims to empower, and uplift society.
Oba Owoade called for a renewed commitment and urged Nigerians to appreciate the gift of life, embrace the virtues of tolerance and contentment.
The monarch also called on philanthropists to remember the less priviledged in their communities.
“The lessons of Eid-el-Fitr are straightforward: by addressing the needs of the poor, we acknowledge the welfare of others as equal to our own. Sharing our material wealth honors the One (God) who made such provisions available to us,” he explained.
Oba Owoade reminded the people not to lose sight of the true significance of this special occasion and the spirit of sacrifice it embodies.
“With millions of Nigerians displaced within their own country, the importance of Eid-el-Fitr this year is even more profound, he said”.
