TRAFFIC DIVERSION AS TANKER FALLS IN IBADAN

The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) has notified motorists plying Gate to Idi-ape to Iwo-road axis to take alternative route to their destinations.

OYRTMA issued this notice on its official X page on Monday following an accident of a fallen gas tanker on the road.

According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. when the tanker heading from Bashorun road fell just as it took a turn towards Iwo Road.

It was, however, gathered that the tanker was empty and did not have gas contents in it.

Almond FM correspondent who was at the scene observed that the situation was later put under control by men of the Oyo State Fire Service who were on ground to ensure safe evacuation.

There was also the presence of security agencies including the Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who controlled the traffic.
