NIMET PREDICTS HAZY WEATHER ON FRIDAY

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET has forecast moderate dust haze with reduced visibility and localized thunderstorms across the country on Friday.

NiMet said that over the northern region and North-Central states, the forecast includes a horizontal visibility range of 2 – 5 km, posing potential risks for road and air travel.

It emphasizes the necessity for precautions in light of the suspended dust particles.

NiMet states that patches of clouds in the hazy atmosphere are expected in the morning hours over the inland cities of the South and the coastal states with prospects of localized thunderstorms over parts of Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states in the afternoon or evening periods.

The agency also warns people with asthma and other respiratory issues to “exercise caution and limit outdoor exposure due to the present weather conditions” advises the disaster risk managers, agencies, and individuals to take proactive steps to avert potential loss of lives and property.
